It was Eddy's birthday, and he was holding an exclusive party at the famous restaurant, Cumulus Up. As Jack had never been to Melbourne before, we decided to make a weekend of it as it also coincided with the start of school holidays!

We flew down from Sydney on Thursday evening, arriving in Melbourne just before 10:00pm. The airport is well setup in Melbourne and it was only a few minutes before we had our bags, and tickets for the Skybus to Melbourne. We were also lucky that our hotel was located just a couple of blocks from the bus depot, so we were checked in and in bed at a reasonable hour!

The next day was activity day for us. We located a fantastic place for breakfast called Buddabah (which unfortunately didnt open on weekends...) before hitting the streets of Melbourne. Jacks first request was to take the elevator to level 88 of the Eureka building - The Skydeck! This was a great experience, we got to see all around the city from the MCG to Docklands. In the afternoon, we continued to wander around the city, before preparing ourselves for tonights entertainment - participating in the audience of The Project!

The Project turned out to be great fun. We caught a tram down to its location before being taken into their prep room where we all hung about for a while as the floor manager went through all the expectations. We then moved in and claimed our seats, Jack wanted front and centre so we could watch how the camera work was done. Waleed was there, but the others were the regular Friday crew, so no Carrie. But we were lucky enough to have a distinguished pannel guest - Mr Bill Shorten!

The following day I was up early and went for a run around the MCG - which is an amazing building, my first time here. Then after finding a new place for breakfast, we headed down to St Kilda and wandered along the coast line in the sun - which is very unlike Melbourne! We later made it up to the Shrine of Remembrance before heading home.

Then in the evening, I walked down to Cumulus Up which was about 20 minutes away and met up with old friends for some fine food and reminiscing about the past. Happy birthday of course to Eddy who turned 40 - yes, still a young man!

Our final day in Melbourne started out by going to Mass at the Cathedral near our hotel. We then grabbed some bikes and peddled up to the MCG and back before heading off to the Sky Bus depot and on to our Tiger Air flight home. Quite impressed by Tiger to be honest, no complaints about the food...
